Fazio Foothills is dramatic without feeling performative.
The course moves through cliffs, limestone, elevation changes, waterfalls, and native Texas terrain in a way that feels cinematic but still grounded in playability. This is not a flat, repetitive resort course. It asks for attention.
The elevation shifts naturally slow the rhythm of the round. Women are forced to pause visually and physically, which subtly changes the emotional pacing of the experience itself.
Importantly, the course offers multiple tee box options.
The After-Round Standard™ considers tee accessibility a hospitality issue, not merely a course setup issue. Women should not have to negotiate dignity through course length.
Fazio Foothills succeeds because it allows women to be athletic while still remaining connected to ease, softness, and flow throughout the round.

The wind became part of every decision I made. Not dramatic enough to ruin the round. Just present enough to demand honesty. Every shot felt like a negotiation between my patience and my ego. I was tested. A lot.
The openness is beautiful, but it means you are constantly visible to the landscape, to your playing partners, to yourself. As a beginner, that felt vulnerable but also freeing.
After my round, I had a nice wind-down shower before spending the afternoon at Mokara Spa. It was peaceful, pristine, and I never felt rushed.

PARLO Rating: 4.5 / 5
Coore Crenshaw succeeds because it understands that women do not always want golf to feel loud.
The course performs especially well in emotional pacing, strategic play, and environmental spaciousness. Native grasses, exposed limestone terrain, rolling hills, and wide-open Texas views create a landscape that feels grounding rather than performative. The environment asks women to slow down mentally and physically instead of constantly reacting.
There is very little visual noise here.
That restraint changes the rhythm of the round entirely.
Women are able to move through the course in a way that feels thoughtful, steady, and internally focused. The quieter atmosphere reduces social pressure and creates more room for presence, patience, and attention — something many golf environments unintentionally make difficult.
The broader Barton Creek wellness ecosystem also strengthens the experience significantly. The Mokara Spa, pools, trails, and recovery spaces allow women to transition naturally out of the mental intensity of the round instead of abruptly leaving it behind.
Coore Crenshaw balances athleticism and softness especially well. Women can feel challenged, focused, grounded, and emotionally regulated at the same time.
Where the experience still has room to evolve is in visibly centering women throughout the culture of the property itself. While women can absolutely feel comfortable and connected here, the environment still reflects a more traditional luxury golf culture rather than one intentionally shaped around women’s rituals, recovery, and social experiences.
Overall, Coore Crenshaw feels calm, expansive, and emotionally honest — a course that lingers less through spectacle and more through steadiness.
