posture changes before confidence does

Track meet, from the field

At track meets, you can literally watch this happen over the season.

First visit?
Shoulders tight. Arms folded. Feet close together. Body slightly angled like it might leave early.

A few meets later?

Feet wider. Arms loose. Weight dropped into one hip.
Standing like someone who plans to be here a while.

Confidence doesn’t flip on like a switch.

The body updates first.

The mind usually shows up late to the party.

You don’t notice it while it’s happening —
but once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
