PALM BEACH

PALMS & PRESENCE

Elegance feels most powerful when it no longer needs permission.

UNAPOLOGETIC ELEGANCE

Palm Beach is a masterclass in structural grace. The gardens are sculpted with a precision that borders on poetry. Hotels feel composed, a seamless continuity of luxury from the moment you cross the threshold. Everything here is intentional, as if beauty isn’t just a feature, but the mother tongue of the land.

At first glance, you might think it’s all a stage set for the elite. But spend enough time letting the salt air settle into your spirit, and you realize something deeper is at work. Palm Beach is elegance, spending generations refining an atmosphere. It is distinct from many places in that way.

As women, we’re conditioned to mistake elegance for the external. We wonder what’s the right label, the right club, the address that signals "you’ve arrived." But Palm Beach quietly presses you to ask a different question: What happens when elegance becomes internal? It becomes something you inhabit like a second skin.

As Black queer women moving through this world, we’ve had to master the art of navigating spaces that weren’t built for our presence. We’ve learned that confidence built on external approval is a brittle thing. Real, marrow-deep confidence comes from knowing who you are before anyone else gets to vote on your belonging. Palm Beach mirrors back that truth. The ocean doesn’t care about your portfolio or your pedigree. The morning light spilling across a fairway has no ego. The palms don’t lean differently just because someone of influence is walking beneath them. Nature is the only truly democratic space. Maybe that’s why the moments that actually nourish you rarely happen in the grand, hushed ballrooms. They happen outside. The air pace slows enough for your shoulders to finally drop and simply exist.

BEYOND THE GATES

Palm Beach holds a heavy spot in the American imagination. Luxury. Legacy. Exclusivity. Golf here grew up alongside these ideas, where the private club became as much a fortress of exclusion as a site of sport.

For the better part of a century, those gates were locked tight. And naturally, Black golfers across South Florida wrote a counter-narrative. They built their own ecosystem that were vibrant, communal, and resilient. They found rhythm on municipal tracks, through local associations, and in the quiet power of community networks while the elite clubs were busy keeping doors closed. Black people no longer need a gatekeeper's permission to build the worlds we’re hungry for.

That shift feels electric in Palm Beach, and it’s empowering to see the evolution in ownership. For example, properties like the PGA National Resort, now part of the Salamander Collection, you can see the hand of Sheila Johnson, a Black woman who understands that true luxury is about hospitality that welcomes the soul rather than just checking a box. By bringing her high-touch style of hospitality to such an iconic Florida destination, she is helping to rewrite the code of what an elite golf resort can feel like.

Tradition is good at preservation. However, the future belongs to those of us who know how to widen the circle.

THE AFTER-ROUND STANDARD™

The PARLO woman arrives polished—vision sharp, discipline tight. She leaves feeling softer. She remembers that true elegance is about the ease of the spirit. Her confidence is not on loan. Most importantly, she understands that beauty is only fully realized when she leaves a space more expansive, more welcoming, and more "home" for the women coming up behind her.

True luxury is measured by the total, unapologetic freedom to be exactly who you are.

Palm Beach is about the soul-deep luxury of being intentional with your time.

The round concludes, the clubs are tucked away, and suddenly, the frantic ticking of the clock stops. You don't rush for the car; you wander toward the water. A stroll down Worth Avenue becomes a slow, deliberate linger. The salt air acts as a solvent, washing away the residual tension you carried through the back nine.

Nobody is in a hurry to reach the finish line. There is sacredness in that lack of urgency.

We spend so much of our lives as women managing the weight of the world- the household, the expectations, the experience of everyone else. Palm Beach invites us into a different tempo.

The elite golf environments of tomorrow understand that recovery is atmospheric. It’s the salt air, the warm, golden light, the beauty of the materials you touch, and the conversations that go deep enough to leave you changed. You’re in the room to exhale, not impress.

The After-Round Standard™ has always been about building the environments that help a woman find her way back to herself. Palm Beach gets this deep in its bones.
